Angelika Sporenberg

Dr. Angelika Sporenberg is a fully qualified lawyer and has been working at the Federal Statistical Office since 2023.

She studied law at the University of Bonn, where she also worked at the Institute for Commercial and Economic Law. She earned her doctorate in company reorganisation law.

Dr. Sporenberg practised as a lawyer for seven years at an international commercial law firm specialising in company law before joining the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (Bafin), where she served in financial supervision for 17 years. Her work at Bafin involved both national and international banking supervision as well as securities supervision. Since January 2023, she has been head of the "Administrative Register, Service Centre for Better Regulation" department, focussing on register modernisation, the digitalisation of public administration, and bureaucracy reduction.
