Committee for the Scrutiny of Elections
Scrutiny of elections is the responsibility of the Bundestag. The Committee for the Scrutiny of Elections is the preparatory decision-making body of the Bundestag when the latter has to decide on matters of electoral scrutiny.
The Committee for the Scrutiny of Elections is set up for the term of an electoral period. Appeals are discussed in oral hearings open to the public, while the Committee confers on the outcome of the hearing in secret. The decision is then recorded in writing and submitted to the Bundestag.
