2024 European election: Federal Electoral Committee has decided on complaints

WIESBADEN – On 18 April 2024, the Federal Electoral Committee dealt in public session with complaints relating to the full or partial rejection of the lists of candidates for the 2024 European election which were submitted by the following seven parties and other political associations:

  1. Ab jetzt…Demokratie durch Volksabstimmung, Politik für die Menschen – Volksabstimmung
  2. Bürger. Rechtsstaat. Demokratie. – Initiative für das Grundgesetz – B.R.D.
  3. Die Planetaren Demokrat_innen – Planetare Demokrat_innen
  4. Volt Deutschland – Volt
  5. Partei der Humanisten – PdH
  6. DIE SONSTIGEN, X – sonstige
  7. Partei der Rentner

The Federal Returning Officer reports that six of the complaints were unsuccessful. On the other hand, the complaint raised by the Federal Returning Officer against the rejection of candidate no. 15 of “Partei der Humanisten” was successful. Consequently, “Partei der Humanisten” will be taking part in the European election with 21 candidates.

Therefore, as before, the following 35 parties and other political associations are admitted to participate in the European election on 9 June 2024 with common lists for all the Länder or with lists for an individual Land.
