Number of persons entitled to vote by Länder

WIESBADEN – As the Federal Returning Officer reported on 4 March 2014, the number of persons entitled to vote in Germany in the 2014 European Election on 25 May 2014 is 64.4 million, including almost 61.4 million Germans and about 2.9 million other EU citizens living in Germany.

Most of the 64.4 million persons eligible to vote live in Nordrhein-Westfalen (13.8 million), Bayern (10.1 million) and Baden-Württemberg (8.3 million). The Länder with the smallest number of voters are Bremen (0.5 million) and Saarland (0.8 million).

The largest number of EU citizens entitled to vote live in Bayern (0.7 million), directly followed by Baden-Württemberg and Nordrhein-Westfalen with 0.6 million EU citizens eligible to vote each.
